Fernando Alonso

I am, officially, FED UP OF THIS NAME today. I wish I had a protective bubble that could isolate me from all the Alonsomania tomorrow.

Yo más...

For shame.  Maybe you could send some of that F1 love to the US :)

It's worse in Madrid. All the "pijo" bastards here are growing their hair like him and wearing the same clothes, etc. So, my letter of the day is "M":

Mindless

Who is Fernando Alonso?

Posted by xavier caballe at Sun Oct 2 09:45:37 2005

Up to me, is nice to have different opinions. In madrid Pijos used to wear like this since at least 3 years ago. Fernando is just following the same fashion.
About fernando alonso is nice to see how a good proffessional win, if he is spanish then you should be double proud.

Or else if you are not spanish just leave spain, no? I am tired of invaders. Up to me you can have the catalonian land all for you...it has nothing to offer actually .

For what is worth:

I am fed up because during the last year, he has been in TV at all times: in TV shows, in sport news, in EVERY SINGLE SPANISH TV AD... There's 2 page articles about him or his last or next race in every general news newspaper. He has items in magazines every two months, which tell you about how he was driving a cart when he was 15 days old, or whatever.

Many people are COMPLETELY FED UP.
It happened before with Raúl, Ferrero, Moyá or Crivillé. Some of these are Catalan and I got fed up of them too. This has nothing to do with politics. This has to do with drowning us in Formula 1.

Please stop this campaign against Alonso.

I'm catalan and I've been a formula 1 fan for twelve years and I have been passionated with all spanish drivers, including Pedro M de la Rosa and Marc Gené. I wish they could be driving next season a good car, but it's obvious that they are doing a great job in McLaren and Ferrari.

Now that there is a very successful spanish driver that is breaking some records (youngest pole, youngest win, youngest championship), I just hear from Barcelona that he is an asshole, when the catalan national TV has been giving us the F1 races for at least 8 years.

I would like that someone from Barcelona could say what they think about Ronaldinho. Let's get a list of spots he is in

Trident - a sugar free chewing gum
Natillas Danone - cream
Nike - sportswear
TV3 FCBarcelona self promotions - there is always a Ronaldihno shot
TV3 specials - "ronaldinho we love you" at least once a year

but nobody hates Ronaldinho for that. What is it the people is tired of Alonso? That's not the reason, for sure.

If we ever have the catalan football team winning the fifa world championship, the catalan gov. would order us to tatoo the date in everybody's arm.

The impact and omnipresence of Alonso is a lot bigger than Ronaldinho, probably, because I have hardly noticed this Ronaldinho-everwhere campaign. But I believe it exists, absolutely, it's just that I don't watch much TV, and in my new flat TV3 has very bad reception.

I was just moaning about the massive promotion of this or that in Spain. When it's not Operación Triunfo EVERYWHERE, it's some sports guy.

I'm not campaigning against Alonso. He's obviously a great driver. It'd be nice if I could choose to not care and not notice at all. It's impossible, though. He's on the frontpage of my newspaper when there's a terrible earthquake here or there; he's the main news item in TV when a hurricane has devastated half of Central America.

Posted by Jordi at Tue Oct 18 14:04:31 2005

I'm a long term formula one fan. I have been watching f1 on tv since I was a little child, and I have to say that Fernando Alonso is one of these drivers that one day we will remember as all time classic drivers, like Airton Senna, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda or Michael Schumacher.
The matter about Alonso is that he is very young and he has a very strong personality and some people do not like that.
ALONSO IS THE PRESENT NR. ONE F1 DRIVER, THAT'S THE BARE TRUTH.
